Comparison between a title sequence and a trailer
The difference between a title sequence and trailer is that is that a title sequence most commonly is a sequence of shots in an order which give hints to what is going to happen in the film, where as adverts try to gain the audiences interest by showing the best parts of the film and creating a shorter story line for the audience to see what the film is about. The title sequence makes the audience think about what is going to happen and why it is being shown in that way where as an advert gives a series of clips in chronological order showing different parts of the film. within the batman opening titles it is a tracking establishing shot which goes around something which seems to be a sewage tunnel, creating questions for the audience such as - why is this so important? The whole sequence later reveals that it was actually going around the batman symbol which is the symbol of a bat. Within the Dredd trailer however there is a narration which explains the plot line and it is a sequence of shots which is non-linear and shows the best parts of the films which makes the viewer want to see the whole of the film. This also broadcasts the high quality of the film which shows that it is a blockbuster movie which has had millions invested into it.
Main Task
which basically means we need to research upon any genre that we choose to use and then use the conventions from the research to create an opening. The opening should reflect upon our research and must be able to follow the conventions of our chosen genre.

Evaluation of Preliminary Task
WWW: used a variety of shots with match on action, eyeline match, master shots and eyeline match. The shots used were long, close up and mishots, a variety of angles was also used because of a high angle duo midshot. Overall the continuity within the clip is quite fluent and the extracted sound makes it feel like a realistic conversation. The 180° rule was followed throughout as the audience is not disorientated and the characters are always on the same side as was first shot and presented in the first master shot. The added sound of the sirens was good because it gave a valid reason for eyeline match to occur.
EBI: shot from the other side/ found somewhere with more light as the lighting was poor and showed very little of characters and made the overall framing very dark. Also the level of sound was quite low so could of been enhanced or characters could speak louder so that the microphone on the camera was able to pick it up more clearly. Editing could of been improved but that was via a fault when uploading the finished edited clip so it was re-edited in about 5 minutes so the quality of editing was not as good as the original.
