Titles

The titles that we are going to be using are blood red and are going to be very scratchy (like the ones in se7en) as we thought this would be best for our opening and in our surveys it was voted most popular. The text we have chosen also follows along the conventions of any regular horror as the text is very creepy and the red symbolises the gore within the film. The Title above is an example of a text that we could use within our opening sequence.
Order of titles is as followed:
Al Kiernan
Rae Tiernan
Chris Mayor
Martin Sheen
Natasha Claremont
Sophie Nelson
Robert Wyatt

Never Forgotten (name of film)

Casting

For the dead girl we casted Rae as the basis of the idea started off with her in mind. The opening shot was going to be a close up of her eye with a blood pool starting to form as if she has just been murdered. Rae also suits along her characters profile so it would of been best to use her for our opening sequence therefore it was easiest and more appropriate to cast her as she is basically her character profile.

For the creepy murderer Harry was casted because stereotypically he is a 'grunger' and can be really creepy most of the time so it was an easy to use him as the creepy, disfigured murderer as he would be the most likely to get away with it. Even though he does not suite his character profile (he doesnt go around trying to kill people, in real life at least) because he is not a murderer and he can intergrate into society easily. He is able to take on character roles easily so therefore he was the appropriate choice.

Our surveys

here is the survey that we gave to people to fill out, most questions involved closed questions as this was quicker and more time efficient for the person to fill in and it involved some open questions in which the person filling out the sheet in which they could expand upon their answer.

props and location

1. Ripped clothes for Rae when she is dead in the opening so that it looks as if she has been attacked by a creature with claws. The clothes she will be wearing are casual clothing so that it is shown to be in a modern setting. Darker clothing for the attacker (Harry) as it will help to keep them within the shadow and will keep them hidden which is the point of the opening as only some shots will contain the character being barely visible. This has been selected due to the fact that the murderer is conventially a dark character who is outcasted within horrors whereas the victim is seen to be quite a modern person who is up to date with the clothing and things that happen.
2. An Iphone which will be within her hand as someone will be calling the phone and the screen will light up Rae's face when it appears. This is so that it creates a shadow over her face which will make it look very creepy (hopefully)
3. A scrap piece of paper, this will have writing scrawled on it which says that it has the perfect location for a party. The address will be made up and it will be the 'postcode' of our location. This is to explain why she is at the location which is an abandoned house
4. Location, the location that we are using is the abandoned house as this would be the 'perfect' place for an underage drinking party and it would also be the perfect place for the murder to take place. The abandoned house is one of the most selected conventions from the survey that we did. The location is the building at the top of this post.

Sounds for our opening sequence

we could use this music as a backing track to give our piece an atmoshpere making it creepy and leaving the audience not knowing whats going to come next as the tune seems quite random in places.

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/PNtez2yBJV4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

we are going to use this for the phone as if the person was on the phone or someone is trying to call the person who has just been murdered, this sound will give it some atmosphere as it is quite a creepy sound.

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/zVpPxhXO1Ok" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

we are going to use this music for the flashbacks within our opening so that it shows the difference in the events.
